These clay fired granuals have excellent water retention, is extremely well draining and will not break down over time. It is used by bonsai professionals and the hydroponics industry around the world. This soil has been blended with a slow release fertiliser with an NPK of 5.5.5. This is what we use on our own trees.

For coniferous species of bonsai you should add 30% grit to this mix.
